10 days ago I witnessed a miracle.  I witnessed, with nothing less than awe, the miracle of birth.

Even now, sitting here trying to type this post over a week later, I am still struggling to compose my thoughts.

Watching his mother move through the wearying motions of labour was nothing short of electrifying.  I could feel her strength as she adamantly controlled her pain.  I could feel her intensity as she summonsed her energy.  I could feel her power as she willed her baby into this world…

On August 20 2010, at 1.37pm, James Tiberius Pedley was born into this world, into the water at his home.  It was a moment I will never ever forget.

James, welcome earthside…
